Repairs and Adjustments
Initial Issue
REP 8.3 Feed Roll Assembly

Removal
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or shock, do not perform repair activities with the power switch
on or electrical power applied to the machine.
1. Switch off the machine power and disconnect the machine Power Cord.
2. Remove the Rear Cover Assembly. (REP 14.6)
3. Remove the HVPS. (REP 1.2)
4. Remove the Paper Handling Drive Assembly. (REP 4.1)
5. Remove the Feed Solenoid. (REP 8.5).
6. Remove the Sensor Bracket (REP 7.2)
7. Remove the Feed Roll. (REP 8.2)
WARNING
Use extreme care when working in the vicinity of the exposed metal frame parts. The
edges of the parts may be very sharp and could cause serious injury.
8. Remove the Feed Roll Assembly. (Figure 1)

Replacement
1. Perform the procedure for removal in reverse.
2. When installing, verify that the Feed Gear teeth are stopped by the armature of the Feed
Solenoid.

Remove the screw holding the
Feed Shaft Guide and remove
the Feed Shaft Guide

Remove the
Feed Spring

Remove the E-ring and
remove the Feed Gear
4
Remove the Feed Roll Assembly by sliding it forward,
until the rear is free from the frame, then pivot it to
remove the front. Remove the Feed Roll Assembly
together with the gear and bearing intact
