010-358 Fuser Fan Error RAP
The Fuser Fan has failed to operate correctly. A Fuser Fan rotation error has been declared.
Initial Actions
Ensure that there are no obstructions or physical conditions that might inhibit normal fan oper-
ation.
Procedure
Access the Digital Output (DO) test from the Control Panel. Enter code [63]. Press the Item/
Enter button. The Fuser Fan rotates.
YN
+24VDC is measured between P 111-4 and frame ground (DC Common).
YN
Go to Flag 1 and Flag 4. Check for an open circuit. Repair or replace the Main Har-
ness (PL 11.1) as required. If the wiring is OK, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Go to Flag 1. Check for an open circuit. Repair or replace the Main Harness (PL 11.1) as
required. If the wiring is OK, replace the Fuser Fan (PL 9.2).
NOTE: By executing [DO-63] and [DO-65] at the same time, the Fuser Fan should rotate at a
higher speed.
From the Control Panel, enter code [65]. Press the Item/Enter button. The speed of the
Fuser Fan increases.
YN
Less than +1.0VDC is measured between P 111-3 and frame ground (DC Common).
YN
Go to Flag 2. Check for an open circuit. Repair or replace the Main Harness (PL
11.1) as required. If the wiring is OK, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Replace the Fuser Fan (PL 9.2).
The Fault Code is still present or re-occurs.
YN
The problem may be intermittent. Go to Figure 1. Check for loose or damaged connec-
tions or damaged wires. Also check for continuity. If the wiring is OK, replace the Fuser
Fan (PL 9.2). If the problem persists, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
+5VDC is measured between P 111-2 and frame ground (DC Common).
YN
Go to Flag 3. Check for an open circuit. Repair or replace the Main Harness (PL 11.1) as
required. If the wiring is OK, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Replace the Fuser Fan (PL 9.2).
