Repairs and Adjustments
Initial Issue
REP 1.5 MCU PWB

Removal
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or shock, do not perform repair activities with the power switch
on or electrical power applied to the machine.
CAUTION
Before replacing the MCU PWB, record the machine values and then reload these values after
replacement, if required.
1. If possible, record the values stored in the machine history (GP 3) and (GP 11).
2. Switch off the machine power and disconnect the machine Power Cord.
3. Remove the Top Cover Assembly (REP 14.4).
4. Remove the Right Cover (REP 14.9).
5. Remove the ESS PWB and Plate as a unit (REP 1.9) (figure 1 of the procedure only).
6. Remove the Controller Chassis (REP 1.11).
CAUTION
Observe the ESD Procedures when removing the MCU PWB.
7. Remove the MCU PWB (Figure 1).
Replacement
CAUTION
For proper machine operation, order and install a new MCU PWB from distribution.
Remove the EPROM at location U2 from the original MCU PWB, and install it on the new
MCU PWB. If a new MCU PWB is not available and you must use a PWB removed from
another machine, you must remove the EPROM from the original MCU PWB and install it on
the replacement MCU PWB.
1. Reinstall the MCU PWB in the reverse order of removal.
