Repairs and Adjustments
Initial Issue
REP 6.21 Full-rate Carriage Assembly

Removal
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or shock, do not perform repair activities with the power switch
on or electrical power applied to the machine.
1. Switch off the machine power and disconnect the machine Power Cord.
2. Remove the Platen Glass (REP 6.1).
3. Remove the Full-rate Carriage. (Figure 1)

Replacement
1. Perform the procedure for removal in reverse.
2. Perform a Full/Half-rate Carriage Parallel Adjustment (ADJ 6.2).

Removal
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or shock, do not perform repair activities with the power switch
on or electrical power applied to the machine.
1. Switch off the machine power and disconnect the machine Power Cord.
2. Remove the Platen Glass (REP 6.1).
CAUTION
The PWB components are highly susceptible to damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD)
and extreme care should be used when handling these components. Use of the ESD Field
Service Kit is required.
3. Remove the FLPS PWB (Figure 1).

Replacement
1. Perform the procedure for removal in reverse.

Remove the screws
(2) and the Full-rate
Carriage

Position the Full-rate Carriage to the
center position (near the frame cut-outs)

Disconnect the Ribbon
Cable

Remove the screws (2)
and partially remove the
PWB by moving it in the
direction indicated

Disconnect the lamp connector. Disconnect ribbon
cable connector by sliding the connector body away from PWB.
