Automaticallycontrolling the climatecontrol
in the rear compartment
Requirements:

Rear-compartment climatecontrol has been
switched on (/ page97).
In automatic mode, thetemperature, airflow and
air distribution areregulated and kept constant.

Press the /Y button.

Even if thefront-compartmentsystemisin
automatic mode, therear-compartment sys‐
temcan exit automatic mode if youadjust
thebloweronthe rear-compartment menu.

If theair is cooled and thedriver, front
passenger or sliding door is opened, therear
air conditioning system bloweristurned
down afteraround 15 minutes.
When all doorshave been closed again, the
blowerwillberesettothe previous setting
afteraround one minute.

The symbols on thedisplayindicatethe vents
through whichthe air is being directed.

Press the _ button repeatedlyuntil the
desired air distribution appearsinthe air con‐
ditioning system display.
Switching thesynchronization function on
and off
Requirements:

The climatecontrol system has been
switched on (/ page96).
The synchronization function controls theclimate
controlfunction centrally.The settings forthe
temperatureand airflow in thefront zoneare
automaticallyadoptedfor therear zone.

Press the 0 button.

If therear-compartment climatecontrol has
been switched off, youcan switch it on auto‐
matically by pressing the 0 button.
Removing condensationfromthe windows

Press the ¬ button.
When thewindshield defrosterisswitched on,
thetemperatureand airflow cannotbeadjus‐
ted.

In vehicles withaheating system and aman‐
ual air-conditioningsystem, also close the
side and center air vent (/ page 99) as well
as theair vents forthe rear compartment
(/ page100).

Vehicles with dual or 3-zone automatic cli‐
matecontrol: press the ¿ button and, if
necessary, use the _ button to direct the
air ontothe windshield ¯.
#
Increase theairflow as necessaryand close
all air vents (/ page 99).
#
If thewindows remain fogged up: press
the ¬ button.
When thewindshield defrosterisswitched on,
thetemperatureand airflow cannotbeadjus‐
ted.
¬ or no symbol will appear on theclimate
controlsystemdisplay.
