Updating at the authorizedMercedes-Benz
Center
The digital mapsgenerated by themap software
become outdated in thesame wayasconven‐
tional road maps.Optimal routeguidance can
only be provided by thenavigation system in con‐
junction withthe mostup-to-datemap data.
Information about newversions of thedigital map
can be obtained from an authorized Mercedes-
Benz Center.
Youcan receiveupdates to thedigital map there.
Online map update
The online map updateservice from Mercedes
PROconnect can be used to updatethe map
data.
This service is notavailable in all countries.
Youcan use thefollowing updateoptions:

Forone region (automatic map update)
Forautomatic map updates the Automatic
Online Update system setting mustbeactiva‐
ted(/page204).
R
Forseveral or all regions (manual map
update)
The map datawill firstbedownloadedontoa
storagemedium and then updated on the
multimedia system.

Overviewofmap data
Your vehicle is suppliedwithmap dataatthe fac‐
tory.Depending on thecountry,map datafor
your region is either pre-installed or themap data
is supplied on adatastorage medium.
If themap dataonyour vehicle has been installed
at thefactoryand youwish to reinstall it, youdo
notneedtoenter theactivation code.
Formap datathat youhave purchased in the
form of adatastorage medium, youmustenter
theaccompanying activation code.

If yousave themap dataonadatastorage
medium withthe online map updateservice,
no entry is required. The activation code is
stored on thedatastorage medium during
thedownloading process.
