The updateswill be downloaded and installed
automatically.

Deactivate Automatic Online Update.

Select an updatefromthe listand startthe

The modificationsfromthe softwareupdate
will be active.
Important system updates
Important system updates maybenecessaryfor
thesecurity of your multimedia system's data.
Please install these updates, or else thesecurity
of your multimedia system cannot be ensured.

thesystemupdates will be downloaded auto‐
matically(/page204).
As soon as an updateisavailable fordownload, a
corresponding messageappears on themedia
display.

Deep system updates
Deepsystemupdates access vehicle or system
settings and can thereforeonlybecarried out
when thevehicle is stationaryand theignition is
switched off.
If thedownload of adeep system updateiscom‐
pletedand theupdateisready forinstallation,
youwill be informed of this afterthe next ignition
cycle, forexample.

Park thevehicle safely in asuitable location
beforestartingthe installation.

The ignition is switched off.

Notesand warnings have been read and
accepted.

The parking brakeisapplied.
If all requirements aremet,the updatewill be
installed. The multimedia system cannot be oper‐
ated while theupdateisbeing installed and vehi‐
cle functions arerestricted.
If errors should occur during theinstallation,the
multimedia system automaticallyattemptsto
restorethe previous version. If restoration of the
previous version is notpossible, asymbol
appearsonthe media display. Please consult a
qualified specialistworkshop to resolvethe prob‐
lem.
