Closing theDEF filler cap on lockable filler
caps
#
Afterfilling theDEF tank,place DEF filler cap
1 on thefiller neckand tightenitclockwise.
#
Remove tool 4 from DEF filler cap 1 and
storeitinthe vehicle tool kit.
#
Pull cover 3 on DEF filler cap 1 up over
holes 2 of DEF filler cap 1,turnand
release.
#
Turn DEF filler cap 1.
If DEFfiller cap 1 turns freely, theDEF tank
is closed.
Parking

WARNING Risk of fire caused by hot
exhaustsystemparts
Flammable material suchasleaves, grass or
twigs mayigniteiftheycome intocontact
with hotparts of theexhaust system or
exhaustgas flow.

Park thevehicle so that no flammable
material can comeintocontact with hot
vehicle components.
#
In particular,donot parkondry grass‐
land or harvested grain fields.

WARNING Risk of accident and injury
duetochildren leftunattendedinthe
vehicle
If children areleftunattendedinthe vehicle,
they could:
R
opendoors,therebyendangering other
persons or road users.
R
getout of thevehicle and be hit by
oncomingtraffic.
R
operatevehicle equipment and become
trapped, forexample.
In addition,children could also setthe vehicle
in motion, forexample, by:
R
releasing theparking brake.
R
shifting theautomatic transmission out of
parkposition j.
R
startingthe engine

Neverleave children and animals unat‐
tendedinthe vehicle.
#
When leaving thevehicle, alwaystake
theSmartKey withyou and lockthe
vehicle.
#
Keep theSmartKey out of thereachof
children.

train due to rolling away

Alwaysparkyour vehicle safely and
according to legal requirements.

Alwaysproperly securethe vehicle
againstrolling away.

parking brakeisnot applied
If youparkthe vehicle withthe transmission
in parkposition j and theparking brakeis
notengaged, thevehicle mayroll away.
Engaging park position j is notafully ade‐
quatereplacement forthe parking brake.
