is intended foruse in an automotiveradar
system only. Removal, tampering, or altering
of thedevice will void anywarranties, and is

Blind SpotAssistreacts neither to stationary
objectsnor to vehicles approaching and over‐
taking youatagreatly different speed.
As aresult, Blind SpotAssistcannotwarn
driversinthese situations.

Alwayspay careful attention to thetraf‐
ficsituation and maintainasafedis‐
tance at theside of thevehicle.
Blind SpotAssistisonlyanaid. It mayfail to
detect some vehicles and is no substitutefor
attentivedriving. Alwaysensurethat thereissuf‐
ficient distance to theside forother road users
and obstacles.
If avehicle is detected abovespeeds of approx‐
imately7.5 mph(12 km/h) and this vehicle sub‐
sequentlyentersthe monitoring rangedirectly
next to your vehicle, thewarning lampinthe out‐
side mirrorlights up red.

When atrailer is connected, theradar sen‐
sor's field of vision maybeimpaired, thereby
making limited monitoring possible. Always
paycareful attention to thetraffic situation
and maintain asafedistance at theside of
thevehicle.
If avehicle is detected closetoyour vehicle in the
lateral monitoring rangeand youswitch on the
turnsignalindicatorinthe corresponding direc‐
tion, awarning tone sounds. The redwarning
lampinthe outside mirrorflashes. If theturnsig‐
nal indicator remains switched on, all other
detected vehicles areindicated only by theflash‐
ing of thered warning lamp.
If youovertakeavehicle quickly, no warning is
given.
Exit warning
The exit warning is an additional function of Blind
SpotAssistand warnsvehicle occupants when
leaving thevehicle about anyapproaching vehi‐
cles.

The exit warning reactsneither to stationary
objectsnor to vehicles approaching youata
greatly different speed.
As aresult, theexit warning cannotwarndriv‐
ersinthese situations.

BlindSpotAssistisactivated and up to a
maximumofthree minutes afterthe ignition
has been switched off. The end of theavaila‐
bilityofthe exit warning function is indicated
by aseries of flashes in theoutside mirror.
The exit warning function is onlyanaid and is no
substitutefor theattentiveness of thevehicle
