DSR (Downhill Speed Regulation)
NotesonDSR
If youfail to adaptyour driving styleoryou are
inattentive,DSR can neither reduce therisk of
accident nor override thelaws of physics. DSR
cannottakeroad, weather and trafficconditions
intoaccount. DSR is only an aid. Youare respon‐
sible forasafedistance to thevehicle in front, for
vehicle speed and forbraking in good time.
DSR supports youwhen drivingdownhill. DSR
maintains aset speed foryou on downhill gradi‐
ents by applying thebrakesasrequired. Main‐
tainingthe speed is dependent on theroad sur‐
face conditions and thedownhill gradient and
cannot thereforebeguaranteed in all situations.
Youcan setthe speed depending on thegear
rangetobetween 2mph (4 km/h) and 11 mph
(18km/h) using thebrake and acceleratorpedals
or therockerswitchonthe steering wheel.
DSR automaticallycontrols in thefollowing situa‐
tions:
R
If thevehicle is stationary, or its speed is less
than 2mph (4 km/h),the speed is setto
2mph (4 km/h) or it is settothe minimum
speed forthe respectivegear range.
R
If youdrive faster than 11 mph(18 km/h) off-
road, DSRswitches to standbymode.DSR
remains activated, but does notbrake auto‐
matically.
R
If youdrive downhill slowerthan 11 mph
(18km/h), DSRsetsthe speed to theprevi‐
ously setspeed.
R
If youdrive faster than 28 mph(45 km/h),
DSR switches offautomatically.
Activating/deactivatingDSR
ActivatingDSR
Youcan activateDSR when thevehicle is station‐
aryormoving.
#
Press theupper section of switch 1.
#
Brakeoracceleratethe vehicle to thedesired
speed between 2mph (4 km/h) and 11 mph
(18km/h).
#
Release thebrake or acceleratorpedal.
The current speed is stored. When stationary,
2mph (4 km/h) or theminimum possible
speed foreachgear rangeisstored. DSR
maintains thestoredspeed on thedownhill
gradient and brakes automatically.
When DSR is activated and thevehicle pulls
away,accelerates or brakes, thespeed setcorre‐
sponds to thespeed at whichthe acceleratoror
brakepedalisreleased or therockerswitchis
pressed during DSR regulation. This is onlythe
case if youare notdrivingfasterthan 11 mph
(18km/h).

tus area of theon-board computer.
