The imagefromthe 360° Cameraappearsauto‐
maticallyinthe multimedia system when thefol‐
lowing conditionsare fulfilled:

The ignition is switched on.
R
The rear-enddoorsare opened.
This meansthat theareabehind thevehicle can
be monitored.
When therear-end doorsare closed, theimage
from therear viewcameraisswitched offafter
approximatelyten seconds.

Requirements:

The Auto. Rear View Cam. is activated in the
multimedia system (/ page152).

Select thedesired viewinthe multimedia sys‐
tem.
Activating/deactivatingautomaticoperation
of the rear viewcamera
The rear viewcameraisonlyanaid. It is nota
substitutefor youpaying attention to thesur‐
roundings. Youare alwaysresponsiblefor safe
maneuvering, parking in and exitingfromapark‐
ing space. Makesurethat no persons, animals or
objects etc. areinthe pathofyour vehicle. Pay
attention to your surroundingsand be ready to
brakeatall times.

When maneuvering assistance is activated,
thefollowing functionsare active:

ATTENTION ASSIST
Function of ATTENTION ASSIST
ATTENTION ASSISTcan assistyou on long,
monotonousjourneys, e.g. on freeways and
expressways. If ATTENTION ASSISTdetects indi‐
catorsoffatigue or increasedlapsesinconcen‐
tration on thepartofthe driver,itsuggests taking
abreak.
ATTENTION ASSISTisonlyanaid. It cannot
alwaysdetect drowsiness or increased lapses in
concentration in good time. The system is nota
substitutefor awell-restedand attentivedriver.
On long journeys,takeregular and timelybreaks
that allowyou to rest properly.
Youcan choose between twosettings:
R
Standard: normal system sensitivity
R
Sensitive: higher system sensitivity.The
driver is warned earlier and theattention level
detected by thesystem (Attention Level) is
adaptedaccordingly.
If fatigue or increased lapsesinconcentration are
detected, the ATTENTION ASSIST: Take aBreak!
warning appearsinthe Instrument Display. You
can acknowledge themessageand take abreak if
necessary. If youdonot take abreak and ATTEN‐
TION ASSISTcontinues to detect increased lap‐
ses in concentration, youwill be warned again
afteraminimumof15minutes.

ATTENTION ASSISTdisplayedinthe Assistance
menu of theon-boardcomputer:

The journeylengthsince thelastbreak
R
The attention leveldetermined by ATTENTION
ASSIST:

The fuller thecircle is, thehigher the
detected attentionlevelis

The circle in thecenter of thedisplay
empties from theoutside inwardsas
attentiveness decreases
