Emergency braking
In theevent of an emergency,you can brakethe
vehicle while it is in motion withthe electric park‐
ing brake.

While driving, press switch 1 of theelectric
parking brake.
The vehicle is braked as long as youkeep
switch 1 of theelectric parking brake
depressed.
The longer electric parking brakeswitch 1 is
depressed, thegreater thebraking force.
During thebraking procedure, youwill receivethe
following feedbackfromthe vehicle:

awarning tone sounds

the"Release parking brake" displaymessage
appears
R
thered F and ! (USA) or ! (Can‐
ada) indicator lamps in theInstrument Display
flash
When thevehicle has been braked to astandstill,
theelectric parking brakeisapplied.
Parking thevehicle foranextended period
Parking thevehicle forlongerthan four
weeks

Method 1: connectthe batteries to atrickle
charger.

Method 2: disconnect thevehicle starterbat‐
tery.
#
Method 3: switch offthe powersupply using
thebatterymain switchand disconnect the
auxiliarybatteryonthe vehicle.
#
Method 4: interrupt thepowersupply by acti‐
vating standbymode (/ page137).
Thechargelevelofthe batterymustbechecked
every threeweeksifnomeasures aretaken to
maintain thebatterycharge.

Battery voltagebelow12.2 V: charge the
batterytoprevent deep dischargedamage.
