Deactivating ActiveDistance Assist

If youleave thedriver's seat while thevehicle
is being braked by ActiveDistance Assist
DISTRONIConly,the vehicle can roll away.

AlwaysdeactivateActiveDistance
Assist DISTRONICand securethe vehi‐
cle to prevent it from rolling away before
youleave thedriver's seat.
#
Press rocker switch 4 down (CNCL).
#
Depress thebrake pedal.
Increasing or reducing the speed
#
Push rocker switch 3 up (SET+)ordown
(SET-).
The stored speed is increased or reduced by
1mph (1 km/h).
or
#
Press and hold rocker switch 3 up (SET+)/
down (SET-).
The stored speed is increased or reduced in
1mph (1 km/h) increments.
or
#
Push rocker switch 3 beyond thepressure
point.
The stored speed is increased or reduced by
5mph (10km/h).
or
#
Push rocker switch 3 beyond thepressure
point and hold.
The stored speed is increased or reduced in
5mph (10km/h) increments.
Increasing or reducing the specifieddistance
from the vehicleinfront

To increase thespecified distance: press
rocker switch 2 down ( ).

rocker switch 2 up ( ).

Hill StartAssistholds thevehicle forashorttime
when pulling away on ahill under thefollowing
conditions:

Vehicles with automatic transmission: the
transmission is in position h or k.
R
The parking brakehas been released.
This gives youenough timetomove your foot
from thebrake pedal to theaccelerator pedal and
depress it beforethe vehicle begins to roll.

WARNING Risk of accident and injury
duetothe vehicle rolling away
Afterashorttime, Hill StartAssistnolonger
holds thevehicle and it can roll away.

Therefore, swiftlymove your foot from
thebrake pedal to theaccelerator
pedal. Neverattempt to leave thevehi‐
cle if it is being held by Hill StartAssist.
HOLD function
HOLD function
Requirements:
R
The seat occupancy recognition on thedriv‐
er's seat has detected that thedriverhas fas‐
tened theseat belt.
The HOLD function holds thevehicle at astand‐
still without requiring youtodepress thebrake
pedal, e.g. when pulling away on steep slopes.
When youdepress theacceleratorpedaltopull
away,the braking effect is canceled and the
HOLD functionisdeactivated.
System limitations

The incline mustnot be greaterthan 30%.
Parking AssistPARKTRONIC
Function of Parking AssistPARKTRONIC
Parking AssistPARKTRONIC is an electronicpark‐
ing assistancesystemwithultrasound. It moni‐
tors theareaaround your vehicle using six sen‐
sorsonthe front bumper and six sensorsonthe
rear bumper.Parking AssistPARKTRONIC indi‐
catesvisuallyand audiblythe distance between
your vehicle and an object.
Parking AssistPARKTRONIC is only an aid. It is
notasubstitutefor your attention to thesur‐
roundings. The responsibility forsafemaneuver‐
