when driving, thebrake system mayoverheat.
This increases thebraking distance and the

while driving.

unsuitable ball coupling
If youinstall an unsuitable ball coupling, over‐
loading of thetrailer hitchand rear axle will
be theresult. This is particularly thecase if
theball coupling is relatively long or angled
differently.
The handling characteristicsmay be heavily
impaired and thetrailer can become
detached. Thereisarisk of fatalinjury.

Only install aball couplingthat meets
thepermitted dimensionsand has been
designed forthe trailer operation
requirements.

Do notmodifythe ball coupling or the
trailerhitch.

Place your vehicle/trailer combination on surfa‐
ces that areasevenaspossible and secure it
againstrolling away (/ page133). Coupleand
uncouplethe trailer carefully.
When backing up thetowing vehicle, ensurethat
thereisno-one between thevehicle and the
trailer.
