Procedure
1. Connect the PROFINET cables to the two PROFINET sockets X150-P1 and X150-P2 on the
controller.
The maximum permitted cable length from the previous station and to the next station is
100m.
2. Connect the external 24V power supply to the terminals X124: 1, 3 and X124: 2, 4. The
external 24V power supply is only required if communications with the controller is also
intended to run when the line voltage is disconnected.
Result
You have connected the PROFINET cable to the converter.
10.3.2.2 Conguring communication using SIMATIC S7 control
Procedure
Proceed as follows to congure communication with a SIMATIC S7 controller in PROFINET:
• Install the current Startdrive version.
OR
• Install the GSDML of the converter using "Option/Manage general station description (GSD)"
in the components catalog.
10.3.2.3 Setting communication via PROFINET
Overview
For PROFINET communication between the IO controller and the converter, you must set a
device, an IP address, and a telegram.
Requirement
None
Procedure
1. Assign a device name that is unique in the PROFINET network.
PROFINET uses a device name in addition to the MAC address and the IP address to identify
the PROFINET devices.
2. Specify an IP address.
You have the following options to specify the IP address of the converter:
– The IP address is specied using the engineering software.
– The IO controller assigns an IP address to the converter.
