16. REMOVE A/C COMPRESSOR BRACKET
Remove the three bolts and A/C compressor bracket.
17. SUSPEND ENGINE WITH ENGINE SLING DEVICE
18. REMOVE TIMING BELT (See page EG–29)
19. REMOVE NO.1 IDLER PULLEY
Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the bolt, idler pulley
and plate washer.
20. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY
If the pulley cannot be removed by hand, use two screwdriv-
ers.
HINT: Position shop rags as shown to prevent damage.
21. REMOVE OIL PUMP
(a) Remove the nine bolts.
(b) Remove the oil pump by prying a screwdriver between the oil
pump and main bearing cap.
(c) Remove the O–ring.
