ADJUSTMENTS AND MAINTENANCE

Always stop the engine, unless other-
wise instructed, before checking and/or
adjusting any belt, chain or other compo-
nent described in this Section.

Daily check all belt and chain tensions to en-
sure optimum operation.
A maintenance schedule is mapped out at the
end of this Section.

Most belt idlers are spring-loaded and are fit-
ted with an indicator plate to indicate the cor-
rect belt tension.
