SECTION 5
5-41
ENGINE
IMPORTANT:
Clean the engine area, the radiator compart-
ment and, in particular, the exhaust system
daily to prevent fire hazards. When operating
in extremely dry crops and in heavy dust
conditions, check these areas more often and
clean, if necessary.
FUEL SYSTEM
Fuel level
The fuel level can be checked on the gauge in the in-
strument panel.
Filling the fuel tank
Before filling the fuel tank, clean away any dust and
chaff from the filler neck and fill through a funnel with
a fine gauze filter.
The best time to fill the tank is in the evening as this
prevents overnight condensation from forming in the
tank.
IMPORTANT:
The quality of fuel used is an important factor
in obtaining dependable performance and sat-
isfactory engine life. Many engine difficulties
can be traced to dirty fuel, therefore the impor-
tance of using clean fuel, properly stored, can-
not be stressed too strongly.
Fuel with a sulphur content below 0.5 % is rec-
ommended.
