Socket Wrenches
This type is undoubtedly the fastest, safest and
most co nv e ni ent to usc. See Figure 32 . Sockets
which allach to a ratchet handle are available with
6-poinl or 12-point openings and 114.3 / 8. 112 and
3/4 inch drives. The drive size indicates the size
of the s quare hole which mates with the Tal chct
handle.
Allen
Wrenches
A ll en wrenches ( Figure 33 ) are available in sets
or sepa rately in a variety of sizes. The se sets come
in SAE and metric si ze. so be sure \0 buy a me tri c
seL Suzuki uses a 1 01 of A ll en bolts (somet im es
called socket bolls) on the engine and on the front
fairing.
Torque
Wrench
A torque wrench is used w ith a SOCkC llO measure
how tightly a nut or bolt is in stalled . The y come
in a wide price range and with either 3/8 or 112
in. sq uare drive ( Figure 34 ). Th e drive size
indicates the size
of the sq uare drive which mates
with the socket. Purchase
one that measures 0-280
N-m (0-200 ft.-lb.).
Impact Drh 'er
This tool might have been designed with the bike
in mind. See Figure 35. It makes removal of engine
and clutch
pans easy and eliminates damage to
bolts and screw slot
