CHAPTER TWELVE
BODY AND FRAME

SEAT
Removal/Installation
Refer to Figure 1 for this procedure.
I. Remo ve th e bolt. lockwashcr and washer
( Figure 2) on each s id e of the main seat.
2. Pull up on the re ar of the main scal and move
the main scat toward th e rear and remove the main
scat

3. Rem ove the bolt, lock wa sher and washer (A,
• ' igure 4) al the front of th e pillion scat.
4. Pull up on the front of th e pillion seal a nd
remove the pillion scat assembly (8. Figure 4).
5. In stall by reversing th ese rem ova l step s. Note
the following during
inslallation.
6. 'Make sure the locating tab on the front of the
main scal is correctly h oo ke d onto the metal seat
hook on the rrame.

REAR HANDLE
Rerer to Figure 5 ror th is procedure.
I. Rem ove the seat as described in this chapter.
2. Disconnect th e elcctrical co nncctors r or bo th
rear turn signals. The electrical connectors are
individual and consist or a black wire and a
black/white wire ror each turn signal assembly.
3. Remove the screw on the bottom or the turn
signal base and remove the turn signal assembly
(A, Figure 6) rrom the side handle.
4. Repeat Step 3 ror thc othcr turn signal assembly.
5. Rem ove the upper bolts ( Figure 7) and lower
bolts (under the r ear render) securing the back
support to the side handle s. Remove the back
support (B. Figure 6) .
6. Remove the bolts and nuts securing the right-
and left-hand side handles (C • • ' igure 6) and
rem ove both side handle s.
7. Insta ll by reve rsing these removal steps.
8. Tighten all bolts and nuts securel y.
FRONT FENDER

I. Remove the rront wheel as described in Chapter
Nine.
2. Rem ove the bo lt s securing the rront render to
the rront rork sliders and removc the re nd er.
3. Install by reversing these removal Sleps.
4. Tighten the bolts securel y.
