4. After adjustment is complete. check that the
locknut(s) is tight
at
the clutch actuating lever on
the cra
nk
case cover and at the hand lever.
5.
Road
test the bike
to
make sure the clutch
fuUy
disengages when the lever is puUed in: if
it
does
not. the bi
ke
wi
U creep in gear when stopped.
Make
su
re the clutch
fuUy
engages: if
it
docs not.
the clutch will slip. particularly when accelerating
in
high gear.
6.
If the proper amount
of
adjustment cannot be
achieved using this procedure. the cable has
stretched
to
t
he
point where
it
needs replacing.

Adjust the throttle cable at the interval indicated
in Ta

e 2. The throttle cable should

mm
(0.02-0.04 in.) of free play. If adjustment is
necessary. perform the following:
1.

the throttle cable.
loosen the locknut (A.

achieved.
2.
Tighten the locknut (A.

3.
If the proper amount

adjustment cannot be
achieved using this procedure. the cable has
stretched
to
the point where
it
needs replacing.

4. Check the throttle cable from the throttle grip
to the carburetor. Make sure
it
is not kinked
or
chafed. Replace
as
necessary.
5.

lithium base grease
