Engine is Difficult to Start
Check for one or more oflhe follow in g possible
malfunctions:
a. Fouled spark plug.
b. Improperly adjusted chok e.
c. Contaminated fuel system .
d. Imprope
rl y adjusted carburetor.
c. Weak ignition coil.
f. Weak ignition signal generalOr.
g. Weak or faulty

h. In correct type ignition coil.
i. Poor compression.
j. Improperly adj usted a ut omatic decompression
cable.
Engine Will Not Crank
Ch ec k for one or more of lh e fo ll owing possible
malfun ct ions:
a. Di scharged battery.
b. Broken Slarter gcars.
c. Seized piston.
d. Seized crankshaft bearings.
c, Brok en conn ec ting rod.
f. Locked-up transmission or clutch assembl y.
ENGINE PERFORMANCE
In the following check li st, it is assumed that the
cngine runs, but is not operating at peak perform-
ance. This will serve as a stan ing po

probabilit y.
Engine Will Not Start or is Hard to Start
a. Fuel ta nk empt y.
b. Obstructcd fu el line or fu cl shut off va l ve.
c. Sticking float valve in carb uretor.
d. Carburctor incorrcctly adjusted.
