Opening and closing
The vehicle’s equipment includes two keys
with remote control.
Each key contains an emergency key ele-
ment. The release catches for the emer-
gency key elements are different colours
to help distinguish them.
The key allows you to lock and unlock the
vehicle from a distance. Only use the key in
the immediate vicinity of the vehicle to pre-
vent theft.
The key is configured at the factory to lock
and unlock the following centrally:
ì•« the doors
ì•« the boot lid
ì•« the fuel filler flap

! Do not expose the key to high levels of elec-
tromagnetic radiation. It may otherwise no long-
er function correctly.

Factory settings
왘 To unlock the vehicle centrally:
press the Å’ button.
The turn signals flash once. The locking
knobs in the doors pop up. The anti-
theft alarm system* is deactivated. The
surround lighting also lights up in the
dark if it has been switched on using
COMAND.
If you do not open either a door or the boot
lid after you have unlocked the vehicle, it
will relock itself after approximately
40 seconds.

Never leave children unsupervised in the ve-
hicle. They could open even a locked door
from the inside or start the vehicle if the key
is left in it and thereby endanger themselves
and others. You should therefore take the
key with you when leaving the vehicle, even
if you are only leaving it for a short time.
