wear
The brake pads/linings have reached
their wear limit.
왘 Have the brake pads/linings replaced at a
qualified specialist workshop.
Release
parking brake
The red indicator lamp for the electric
parking brake flashes and you also hear
a warning tone.
You are driving with the electric parking
brake applied or you are using the elec-
tric parking brake for emergency brak-
ing support while the vehicle is in
motion (

왘 Release the electric parking brake.
or
왘 Pull away carefully (컄 page 289).
In the event of emergency braking:
왘 Release the electric parking brake handle.

parking brake
The red indicator lamp for the electric
parking brake is flashing and the yellow
warning lamp for the electric parking
brake is lit. You also hear a warning
tone.
The electric parking brake has malfunc-
tioned, the braking effect is limited.
While the vehicle is in motion:
왘 Release the electric parking brake handle.
With the vehicle stationary:
왘 Switch off the ignition and press the elec-
tric parking brake handle until the warning
message in the multi-function display goes
out.
