Driving systems
Speedtronic is used to make sure that you
do not exceed a set speed. You can set a
variable or permanent limit speed:
Variable for speed limits, e.g. in built-
up areas
Permanent for long-term speed restric-
tions, e.g. for driving on win-
ter tyres
i The speed displayed in the speedometer
may differ slightly from the limit speed stored
with Speedtronic.
Variable Speedtronic
The cruise control lever is used to operate:
ì•« Cruise control, Distronic* or Distronic
Plus*
ì•« Variable Speedtronic
The LIM indicator lamp on the cruise con-
trol lever indicates which system you can
select:
ì•« LIM indicator lamp off:
Cruise control, Distronic* or
Distronic Plus*
ì•« LIM indicator lamp lit:
Variable Speedtronic
You can set any limit speed above
30 km/h using the cruise control lever
when the engine is running.
The cruise control lever is the uppermost
lever on the left of the steering wheel.
1 To store the current speed or a higher
speed
2 To store the current speed or a lower
speed
3 To deactivate Speedtronic
4 To resume the last speed stored
5 To switch between cruise control, Dis-
tronic* or Distronic Plus* and
Speedtronic
6 LIM indicator lamp
왘 To activate: check if the LIM indicator
lamp is lit. If it is, you can activate
Speedtronic. If it is not, press the
cruise control lever in the direction of
arrow 5.
