1 Guide line for cornering
2 Guide line for reversing in a straight
line
왘 Reverse with the steering wheel in this
position until guide line for reversing in
a straight line 1 is parallel to the edge
of the parking space, e.g. the kerb.
왘 Turn the steering wheel to the straight
ahead position and back up, leaving
sufficient distance behind your vehicle.
The Nightview system illuminates the road
with infrared light, in addition to the normal
headlamps. A camera at the top of the
windscreen picks up the infrared light and
shows a black and white view in the multi-
function display. The image in the driver’s
display is similar to the view of the road
provided by the main-beam headlamps.
The Nightview system’s image in the multi-
function display is not impaired:
ì•« by the headlamps of oncoming vehicles
ì•« if you cannot switch on the main-beam
headlamps due to oncoming traffic
This enables you to anticipate the course
of the road and recognise obstacles earli-
er.
i Infrared light is not visible to the human eye
and can therefore remain switched on at all
times without dazzling oncoming traffic.

Nightview system*
G Risk of accident
The Nightview system is only an aid de-
signed to assist driving, and does not relieve
you of the responsibility to pay attention. Do
not rely on the Nightview system’s image,
but continue to look through the wind-
screen. The responsibility to drive safely and
appropriately for the current traffic situation
lies with you at all times. Otherwise, you
could endanger yourself and others.
The Nightview system’s image in the multi-
function display may not be as clear as usual
in fog, rain and snow.
G Risk of accident
The Nightview system cannot detect objects
located directly in front or to the side of the
vehicle. When manoeuvring, continue to
look through the windscreen. Make sure
that no persons or animals are in or near the
area in which you are manoeuvring.
