Towing
i Switch off the automatic locking feature be-
fore the vehicle is towed (
컄 page 212). You
could otherwise become locked out when push-
ing or towing the vehicle.
! Only secure the tow cable or towing bar to
the towing eyes, you may otherwise damage the
vehicle.
Opening the front cover
1 Cover
왘 Press the mark on cover 1 backwards
in the direction of the arrow.
왘 Remove cover 1.
Opening the rear cover

왘 Press the mark on cover 1 backwards
in the direction of the arrow.
왘 Remove cover 1.
Securing the towing eye
왘 Take the towing eye from the vehicle
tool kit (
컄 page 425).
왘 Screw in the towing eye clockwise to
the stop.
왘 Insert the wheel wrench handle into the
towing eye and tighten.
왘 Stow the wheel wrench in the vehicle
tool kit.
! Do not tow the vehicle further than 50 km.
Do not exceed a maximum towing speed of
50 km/h. Otherwise, you could damage the
transmission.
왘 Switch on the ignition.
i You will have to use the ignition lock under-
neath the KEYLESS GO* button on vehicles with
KEYLESS GO* (
컄 page 257).
왘 Move the transmission selector lever to
N.
왘 Take the wheel wrench out of the vehi-
cle tool kit (
컄 page 425).
왘 Insert the wheel wrench handle into the
towing eye and loosen the towing eye.
왘 Unscrew the towing eye.
왘 Replace the cover and press it until it
engages.
왘 Stow the towing eye in the vehicle tool
kit.
