G Risk of injury
On the front-passenger seat, only use child
restraint systems with automatic child seat
recognition which have been recommended
for Mercedes-Benz. You can obtain informa-
tion about this from any Mercedes-Benz
Service Centre.
If you use a rearward-facing child restraint
system on the front-passenger seat, it must
be a special Mercedes-Benz rearward-facing
child seat with automatic child seat recogni-
tion.
P68.60-2111-31
If you use any other type of rearward-facing
child restraint system on the front-passen-
ger seat, the front-passenger front airbag
will not be disabled and the child could be
seriously or fatally injured by the deploy-
ment of the airbag. To draw attention to this
danger, there is an appropriate warning
sticker on the dashboard as well as on both
sides of the sun visor on the passenger side.
If you use a forward-facing child restraint
system without automatic child seat recog-
nition on the front-passenger seat, you must
move the front-passenger seat to its rear-
most position.
Do not leave children unsupervised in the
vehicle, even if they are secured in a child
restraint system.
ì•« They would be unable to rescue them-
selves if danger threatened, e.g. exces-
sive heat.
ì•« They could be injured on moving parts in
the vehicle, e.g. seats.
ì•« They could open the doors and thereby
endanger themselves and others.
Do not place any objects under the child re-
straint system, e.g. a cushion. The entire
base of the child restraint system must al-
ways be resting on the vehicle seat cushion.
An incorrectly fitted child restraint system
cannot perform its protective function in the
event of an accident, and could even lead to
injuries.
