Windscreen wipers
Problem Possible cause/consequence Suggested solutions
The windscreen wipers are jammed. Leaves or snow, for example, may be ob-
structing the windscreen wiper move-
ment. The wiper motor has been
deactivated.
왘 For safety reasons, you should remove
the key from the ignition lock.
왘 Remove the cause of the obstruction.
왘 Switch on the windscreen wipers.
The windscreen wipers do not work. The windscreen wiper drive is malfunc-
tioning.
왘 Select another wiper speed on the com-
bination switch.
왘 Have the windscreen wipers checked at
a qualified specialist workshop.
The windscreen wipers leave smears on
the windscreen after the vehicle has been
washed in an automatic car wash.
Wax or other residues have been left on
the windscreen.
왘 Clean the windscreen with washer fluid
after washing in the automatic car wash

Mirrors and windows
Problem Possible cause/consequence Suggested solutions
An exterior mirror has been displaced to-
wards the front or towards the rear by
force.
왘 Briefly press the mirror-folding button
(
컄 page 269) repeatedly until you hear a
distinct click.
The mirror housing is engaged once more
and you can adjust the mirrors as usual
