Child restraint systems
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you only
use the child restraint systems listed on
(
컄 page 47).
G Risk of injury
Do not leave children unsupervised in the
vehicle, even if they are secured in a child
restraint system. The children could:
앫 injure themselves on parts of the vehicle
앫 be severely or even fatally harmed by
prolonged exposure to intense heat or
cold
Do not position the child restraint system in
direct sunlight. The metallic parts of the
child restraint system could heat up, for ex-
ample, and the child could burn him/herself
on the hot parts.
If the children open a door, they could:
앫 injure other people
앫 get out of the vehicle and thereby injure
themselves or be injured by a passing
vehicle
Do not carry heavy and hard objects in the
vehicle interior if they are unsecured. You
will find further information in the “Controls”
section under “Loading and stowing”
(
컄 page 368) and “Features” (컄 page 378).
An unsecured or incorrectly positioned load
increases the risk of injury for the child in
the event of:
앫 sharp braking
앫 a sudden change of direction
앫 an accident
Also observe the notes on HOLD
(
컄 page 325).
G Risk of injury
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury to
a child in the event of an accident, braking
or sudden change in direction:
앫 always secure children less than 1.50 m
tall or under 12 years of age in special
child restraint systems on a suitable
seat in the vehicle because the seat
belts are not designed for persons of
this size
앫 do not allow children under 12 years of
age to sit on the front-passenger seat
unless they are secured in a child re-
straint system with automatic child seat
recognition in a vehicle equipped with
automatic child seat recognition on the
front-passenger seat (if the vehicle is
equipped with automatic child seat rec-
ognition, there will be a 9
warning lamp on the dashboard).
