Changing the bulbs
! Make sure that no washer fluid escapes.
왘 To fit: guide the lower retaining lug into
the rubber grommet on the longitudinal
member and fit the washer fluid reser-
voir into the bracket.
왘 Turn retaining screw 1 clockwise.
Changing the left-hand dipped-beam
headlamp
왘 Switch off the lights.
왘 Open the bonnet.
Dipped-beam headlamps (halogen head-
lamps)

2 Cable duct
Vehicles with halogen headlamps
왘 Turn cover 1 (컄 page 503) anti-clock-
wise and remove it.
왘 Turn bulb holder 1 anti-clockwise un-
til it disengages.
왘 Remove bulb holder 1.
왘 Pull the bulb out of the socket by its
base.
왘 Insert the new bulb into the socket.
왘 Fit bulb holder 1 into the guide in the
headlamp.
The lug on the bulb holder must point
up and to the left and cable duct 2
must point to the right.
왘 Turn bulb holder 1 clockwise until it
engages.
Cable duct 2 points down and to the
right.

G Risk of injury
Xenon or bi-xenon bulbs are under high volt-
age. Do not, therefore, remove the cover on
xenon or bi-xenon bulbs. Do not change xe-
non or bi-xenon bulbs yourself, but have
them replaced at a qualified specialist work-
shop which has the necessary specialist
knowledge and tools to carry out the work
required.
