Trailer towing*
왘 Press the ball coupling manually in the
direction of the arrow until it engages
behind the bumper.
Indicator lamp 2 goes out and the
message in the multi-function display
disappears.
The trailer power socket is equipped with a
permanent current connection (to PIN 9)
when delivered from the factory. This can
be used for accessories with a maximum
power consumption of 240 W.
! Do not charge the trailer battery using the
permanent current connection, as this could dis-
charge the vehicle battery.
If your trailer has a 7-pin connector, you
can connect it using an adapter cable. This
can be obtained at a qualified specialist
workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Service
Centre.

Fitting the adapter cable
왘 Lift up the cover.
왘 Insert the connector with lug 1 into
groove 2 and turn it clockwise to the
stop.
왘 Allow the cover to engage.
왘 Secure the adapter cable to the trailer
using cable ties.
! Make sure that there is sufficient cable play
so that the cable cannot become detached when
cornering.
