Operation
Trailer towing*
You will find details of installation dimen-
sions and loads in the “Technical data”
section (
컄 page 545).
i Fold the ball coupling in if you are not using
the trailer tow hitch.
The telescope lever is under the cover on
the left-hand side of the boot.

2 Indicator lamp
왘 Pull telescope lever 1 upwards slight-
ly.
왘 Pull telescope lever 1 out forwards.
왘 Pull telescope lever 1 fully upwards.
The ball coupling disengages and folds
out from under the rear bumper. Indica-
tor lamp 2 flashes.
왘 Guide telescope lever 1 back again.
왘 Press the ball coupling manually in the
direction of the arrow until it engages
in a vertical position.
Indicator lamp 2 goes out.
The “Check trailer coupling locking
mechanism” message is shown in the
multi-function display until the ball cou-
pling is engaged.
왘 Remove the protective cap from the
ball coupling.

G Risk of accident
Make sure that the ball coupling engages af-
ter it is folded in or out. The indicator lamp
goes out.
Do not pull the telescope lever if a trailer is
attached. The trailer could otherwise come
loose.
