IAT Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch
ON
and engine stop switch
"0".
Check the IAT sensor with the MCS tester.
Is about O Vindicated?
YES -
GO
TO STEP

NO
-
Intermittent failure

IAT Sensor Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the sensor unit

(Black) connector.
Turn the ignition switch
ON.
Check the
IA
T sensor with the MCS tester.
Is about O Vindicated?
YES - GO
TO
STEP
3.
NO
-
Replace the sensor unit with a new one
and
recheck (Faulty IAT sensor).

IAT Sensor Output Line Short Circuit Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the
ECM
21
P (Gray) connector.
Check for continuity between the ECM
21
P (Gray)
connector
[1]
of the wire harness side and ground
with sensor unit
qP
(Black) connector disconnected.
CONNECTION: B12 (White/blue) - Ground
STANDARD:
No
continuity
TOOL:
Test probe, 2 pack

Is there continuity?
YES -
Short circuit
in
the White/blue wire
NO
- Replace the
ECM
with a new one and
recheck.
