MAINTENANCE
Loosen the lock nut
[1]
and
turn the adjuster
[2]
until
there
is
no
gap between the edge surface of the rear
brake lever
and
edge surface of the rear brake lever
bracket.
Tighten the lock nut while holding the adjuster.
Apply the rear brake lever completely several times.
Recheck the distance between the equalizer
[1]
and
boss
[2]
of the master cylinder body.
STANDARD:
'13 model: 2 - 3

After '13 model: 3 - 4
mm

0.16 in)
• If the combined brake system adjustment
is
normal,
but the front wheel rotates abnormally, check for
other malfunction parts.
Install the front meter panel (page 2-7).
Adjust the rear brake lever freeplay (page 3-18).
Check that the rear wheel turns freely without brake
dragging.

NOTE:
• The brake light switch
on
the brake lever cannot
be
adjusted. If the brake light switch actuation and
brake engagement are not synchronized, either
replace the switch or malfunction parts of the
system.
Check that the brake light comes
on
just prior
to
the
brake actually being engaged.
