6.6.3 Judgment threshold for ACS
The judgment level is adjusted for the automatic identification of whether the original set on the glass is
black or color.
Namely, this is to adjust the judgment level used when "Auto Color” is selected at color modes.

Procedure is same as that of P.6-35 "6.6.2 Density adjustment".
6.6.4 Sharpness adjustment
If you want to make scan images look softer or sharper, perform the following adjustment.
The adjustment can be made for each of the color modes and original modes independently.

Note:
You have to make adjustment by balancing between moire and sharpness.
<Procedure>
(1) While pressing [0] and [5] simultaneously, turn the power ON.
(2) Key in a code and press the [START] button.
(3) Key in the sub code (0,1 or 2), and press the [START] button.
(4) Key in an adjustment value.
(To correct the keyed-in value, press the [C] button.)
(5) Press the [OK] or [INTERRUPT] button to store the value in memory. The equipment goes back
to the ready state.
(6) For resetting the value, repeat step (2) to (5).
(7) Shut down (turn the power OFF), back ON, and then perform the scanning job.
(8) If the desired image density has not been attained, repeat step (1) to (7).

The larger the value is, the more an original tends to be judged
as black even at the Auto Color Mode.
The smaller the value is, the more it tends to be judged as color.
Acceptable values: 0 to 255 (Default: 70)

8354 Full Color Text/Photo The larger the value is, the sharper the image becomes;
while the smaller the value is, the softer the image
becomes.
The smaller the value is, the less moire tends to appear.
The acceptable values are 0 to 255.The center value is 128.
