6.17.3 Checking the sensitivity level of the transmission sensor
How dirty the transmission sensor (photosensor PCB/LED PCB) can be checked by the number of
times that LED1 on the finisher controller PCB lights. For this reason, how dirty the transmission sensor
is serves as a guide for when to perform cleaning during periodic maintenance.
(1) Remove the rear cover of the finisher unit.
(2) Set bits 1 through 6 of DIPSW3 on the finisher controller PCB as indicated.

(3) Press SW1 on the finisher controller PCB. Pressing this switch lights LED1 on the finisher
controller PCB as indicated in the table so that you can check the sensitivity level of the
transmission sensor.
(4) Set all bits on DIPSW3 to OFF.
Sensitivity Level Number of LED Lightings
Sensor not dirty Lit 1X
Sensor slightly dirty Lit 2X
Sensor dirty Lit 3X
