8 GHA 15 HEIGHT ADVISOR INSTALLATION
This section contains information for the GHA 15 Height Advisor. Use this section to install the GHA 15.
8.1 Equipment Description
The GHA 15 Height Advisor uses radar to provide above ground level (AGL) sensor readings up to a
maximum of 500 ft and is designed for aircraft flying up to 25,000 ft. The GHA 15 output provides AGL
data and configurable audio callouts for reference only. The GHA 15 does not satisfy aircraft radar
altimeter requirements.
The GHA 15 features low-power FMCW operation, operation from ground to 500 ft AGL Max., accuracy
of +/- 1.5 ft (3 – 100 ft AGL), +/- 2% (>100 – 500 ft AGL), CAN interface for convenient unit
configuration, calibration and software updates, in addition to a standard USB high speed interface for
diagnostics purposes.
NOTE
It is recommended to install a USB harness to provision the installation for access to
diagnostic information, see Section 23.5.4
for more information.
