30.4.9.3 Calibration Procedure For Aircraft With A Single AOA Calibration Curve
NOTE
Installers should use this procedure for aircraft that will only calibrate a single AOA
calibration curve. If an installer intends to calibrate two AOA calibration curves, to
compensate for flap position, use the procedure described in Section 30.4.9.4
.
Minimum Visible AOA Calibration
This procedure sets the AOA value for the bottom of the AOA gauge green arc (Figure 30-10), which is
also the AOA value at which the gauge will first appear on the PFD. Perform the Flaps Up calibration
while flying the aircraft at an AOA somewhat higher than a normal cruise flight (1.5 x stall speed is
suggested) to avoid nuisance frequent appearances of the AOA gauge.
Figure 30-10 Minimum Visible AOA
1. If dual curve AOA calibration is available, make sure the appropriate Flaps Up Calibration tab is
highlighted. Select the Calibrate button in the Minimum Visible AOA Calibration field.
2. Follow the onscreen instructions, then press the Start button to begin the calibration.
