Precision Rail Vehicles
Two types of vehicles are available for the precision rail option. A vehicle with one array,
which is shown in Figure 3-55, and a vehicle with two arrays, which is shown in Figure 3-56.
Each vehicle provides a mounting surface for the payload. The single array vehicle can carry
payloads up to 2.5 kilograms, the dual array vehicle can carry payloads up to 5 kilograms.
The bearings on the vehicles are an open system that requires continuous lubrication. To avoid
breakdown of the lubrication, the bearings must have a film of oil on them. The interval to
resupply the lubrication depends on the duty cycle and environmental factors.
