MagneMover LITE Transport System Components
Figure 1-1: Detailed View of MagneMover LITE Transport System Components
• Beam – The structure mounted to the transport system legs that provides a rigid
mounting system for the motors.
• Cable Chase with Covers – The area between the motor and the beam. Used to run all
motor power and communication cables. Covers are provided to enclose all cabling.
• Connector Plate – Bracket used to secure sections of the beam to each other.
• Guide Rail – Makes sure that the vehicles (pucks) are maintained in the proper rela-
tionship to the motors.
• Motor – The MagneMover LITE linear synchronous motor (LSM) with integral rails.
• Power Connector – Provides the connection for logic and propulsion power.
• Sync Connector – Provides the connection for the LSM Sync option.
• Communication Connectors – Used for motor to motor communication and
for motor to node controller communication at path ends.
• RS-422 – 4-wire serial data transmission protocol for point-to-point
connections that uses differential signals to provide noise resistance.
• Ethernet – 4-wire data transmission protocol for network connections
that uses differential signals to provide noise resistance.
• Air Port (not shown) – Provides a connection for pressurized air that is sup-
plied to the motor for positively pressurizing the motor body or for forced air
cooling.
