Manually Lubricate the Precision Rails
To determine if the precision rails require lubrication, run a clean, dry, wipe lightly over dif-
ferent sections of the rail and perform a visual inspection of the rails and vehicle bearings. If
little or no oil appears on the wipe, then the rails require lubrication. If there are indications of
lubrication breakdown such as discoloration and excessive wear on the inner and outer bear-
ing surfaces, then the rails require lubrication. Lubrication can be applied manually to all sur-
faces on the rails with a clean towel or wipe.
NOTE: The frequency of lubrication depends on the rail use and environmental factors.
Required Tools and Equipment
• Disposable gloves.
• Microfiber cleaning cloth.
• 68 viscosity EP mineral oil (Kluber 4 UH1-68N).
Procedure
1. Stop all motion on the sections of the MagneMover LITE transport system to be lubri-
cated.
2. Wear gloves and wipe the precision rail with a clean microfiber cloth slightly damp-
ened with mineral oil. Wipe in the direction of the rail.
3. Make sure that all components are free of any oil puddles.
4. Resume motion on the sections of the MM LITE transport system that were stopped.
