mep domain
To create a maintenance end point (MEP) on an interface, use the mep domain command in interface CFM
configuration mode. To remove the MEP from the interface, use the no form of this command.
mep domain domain-name service service-name mep-id id-number
no mep domain domain-name service service-name mep-id id-number
Syntax Description
Domain in which to create the maintenance end point (MEP).
domain domain-name
Operation service in which to create the maintenance end point (MEP).
service service-name
Maintenance end points (MEP) identifier to assign to this MEP. The
range is 1 to 8191.
mep-id id-number
Command Default
No MEPs are configured on the interface.

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes appropriate task
IDs. If the user group assignment is preventing you from using a command, contact your AAA administrator
for assistance.
CFM Maintenance end points (MEPs) are supported on all Ethernet interfaces and VLAN subinterfaces.
This command creates MEPs in the UP MEP state, unless the specified service is configured with MEPs in
the DOWN MEP state. See the service, on page 314 command.
