To configure the serial parameters and enter serial configuration mode, use the serial command in interface
configuration mode. To return to the default state of the serial interface, use the no form of this command.

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes appropriate task
IDs. If the user group assignment is preventing you from using a command, contact your AAA administrator
for assistance.
Serial interfaces are automatically created for unchannelized ports; for channelized ports, serial interfaces are
created when you add T1/E1 channel groups.
