- The ignition switches on automatically and, if
necessary, the engine starts.
Engine cannot be switched off
The engine does not switch off when the ignition
and starter button is pressed briefly. .
An emergency disconnection must be carried out:
- Press the on/start button twice within a few
seconds or hold down once for a long time.

Unable to start the engine
If an unauthorised vehicle key is used or there
is a malfunction in the system, the display on
the vehicle's keypad will show
The instrument panel displays an indication to this
effect.

Use an authorised key.
—
If the fault persists, call in qualified personnel.
Unable to start the engine
The engine may not be started with the ignition
key or by briefly pressing the ignition and start
button, even if the brake pedal or clutch pedal, as
appropriate, is depressed.
There is a malfunction in the starting system.

Keep the ignition key turned or the push button
pressed until the engine starts.
—
Seek the assistance of specialised personnel.
The engine cannot be started remotely.
If any of the following conditions are fulfilled, the
- The hazard warning flashers button is pressed.
Make sure that all necessary conditions are met
and, if necessary, restart the engine.
Start-Stop System
Start-Stop System

Start-Stop button.
The Start-Stop system automatically switches off
the engine when the vehicle comes to a standstill
and during the vehicle's stop phases. If necessary,
the engine is restarted automatically.
Switching on the Start-Stop system
This function is automatically activated when the
ignition is switched on. Information about the
current status is shown on the instrument panel
display.
Further information on the Start-Stop system can be
called up in the infotainment system by pressing
the function button or key the buttons

start.

The vehicle's 12-volt battery is low on charge
or discharged.
Always switch off the Start-Stop system manually
when driving through water.
To stop, depress the brake pedal and hold it
down. Shortly before the vehicle comes to a stop or
when the vehicle stops, the engine shuts off.
To restart the engine, lift your foot off the brake
pedal or press the accelerator.
Control witnesses
If the control light comes on, the
Start-Stop
system
is available and the automatic engine
shutdown is active.
