Wired and
wireless
connections
Some external devices can be connected to the
infotainment via the wireless and cable connections
(provided they are part of the equipment) found in
the vehicle.
The type and number of wired and wireless
connections depend on the country and vehicle in
question. The connections may be different within
the same model series, and may even differ for a
special model.
For wired connections, use only the original
connection cables of the devices or, if necessary,
those supplied ex works for the vehicle in question.
If you cannot insert the connector of the connection
cable, check the sockets and that you are inserting
it correctly.
For wired connections use only suitable and
undamaged connection cables.

Only lightly push the connectors of the
connection cable into the intended sockets in
the correct position. If you exert too much force
may damage both the socket of the device and
the connectors of the connection cable.

The connection cable must not be excessively
twisted or pinched.
•
If unsuitable connection cables are used
or damaged, this can lead to anomalies in the
operation and damage to the device.
If a connected device is not recognised,
disconnect all connected devices.
Connect the connected cables and switch the
device on again. If necessary, check the function of
the connection cable used.
If malfunctions occur in the operation of the
connected devices, restart the
device in question. In some cases this will solve the
problem.

USB connection types and versions
The following USB connections may be available in
the vehicle:

Type A : suitable for data transmission and
charging function.
—
Type only suitable for charging function
(battery charging of external devices).
—
Type C : suitable for data transmission and
charging function.
—
Type only suitable for charging function
(battery charging of external devices).
All USB connections are wired connections that can
only be used with an appropriate connection cable.
The conventional 5 Volt voltage of a USB connection
is available via the USB connection.
TheUSB type, version, number and location of the
USB connections depend on the vehicle and the
market.
Only compatible audio files are displayed. All other
files are ignored.
Infotainment only supports mass storage devices
and audio sources in "storage mode". See how you
can activate this mode in the description of your
audio source.
Audio files from an external data carrier
connected to the USB connection
can be played and
managed via the infotainment system.
