through the vehicle. Such data may also (at least
indirectly) provide information about the driver in
question (driving behaviour, location, etc.). As a
contracting party in the Car-Net deal- ing with
Volkswagen AG, you must ensure that when your
vehicle is used by other drivers (e.g. family
members, friends, relatives, etc.), you are able to
provide them with information about the driver in

You can access and receive data online, and that
you can access such data.
Failure to take account of this obligation to inform
may violate certain rights of the participants.
GPS tracking: consult all occupants
Some Car-Net services require geo- graphical and
vehicle data, e.g. to determine whether the vehicle
is being used within defined speed limits, where it
has been parked or whether it is being used in the
defined geographical area. This information is
displayed on the Car-Net portal and in the
Volkswagen We Connect app (formerly Car-Net).
Therefore, before setting off, ask questions about
If not, deactivate the service in question (if possible)
or do not allow the occupants to use the vehicle. If
not, deactivate the service in question (if possible)
or do not allow the occupants to use the vehicle.

which transmits the current geographical position
and speed of the vehicle, the vehicle usually has

console.
The absence of the marking on the vehicle
does
not guarantee that the control unit does not
transmit the current geographical position and
speed of the vehicle.
Personal
data
Volkswagen protects your personal data and only
uses it to the extent permitted by law or if you
have given your consent to its use. Detailed
information on data processing in connection with
Volkswagen Car-Net services can be found in the
Data Protection Declaration, which is available in
its current version on the Volkswagen website.
S-PIN
To access some Car-Net services, it is always
necessary to enter a personal identification
number (S-PIN). The customer must treat this S-
PIN with absolute confidentiality. If the S-PIN is
disclosed to third parties, the customer must
change it immediately.
Permanent transfer of the vehicle
If another person has left the vehicle to you for
permanent use (e.g. if you buy a used vehicle),
Car-Net may already be activated and the
previous user may still be able to access the data
registered via Car-Net and control certain functions
of your vehicle.
