Notes on technical data
General information on d a t a
Unless otherwise stated, the technical data apply
to the basic model. The values stated may differ
depending on optional equipment or model
version, as well as and for special vehicles and
country-specific equipment. The information in the
official vehicle documentation always takes
precedence.
The power train of the vehicle and its power
output are stated in the data plate and in the
official vehicle documentation.
Please note the notes and information for vehicles of
category N1 → p. 300, Important information for
vehicles of category N1 (light commercial
vehicles) .
Mass
The values for the unladen kerb mass given in the
following tables apply to the vehicle ready to drive
with the fuel tank 90 % full and taking into account
the weight of the driver (75 kg [165 lb]), operating
fluids and, if necessary, tools and spare wheel.
The indicated kerb mass increases with optional
equipment and retrofitting of accessories, thus
reducing the possible payload accordingly.
The payload results from the sum of the following
items:
— passengers
— all baggage
— accessories
— Roof load
Never exceed the maximum permissible vehicle
mass or the maximum permissible axle mass. The
permissible values are shown on the safety
compliance label on the B-pillar on the driver's side
→ p. 311.
Services
The vehicle's performance has been calculated
without any detrimental equipment, e.g., access
points.
For technical approval or tax reasons, power and
performance values may vary.
On some engines with a running gear for poor road
conditions, the maximum speed may be limited and
therefore lower than indicated.
Slope angle
The slope angle is the value of the climbing ability
up to which the vehicle can negotiate a slope
under its own power. This depends, among other
things, on the road surface, weather conditions
and engine power. The values apply to a moving
vehicle and not to starting from a standstill.
The height (slope) attained on a stretch of
100 m (300 ft) is indicated in percent or in degrees
(100 % = 45 degrees).

The vehicle identification number (VIN) consists of
17 characters which are grouped into 7 groups.
Taking the vehicle identification number
