Not wearing a seat-belt or wearing it incorrectly
increases the risk of serious or fatal injury. Seat
belts only provide optimum protection if they are
correctly fitted and used.
Seat belts are the most effective means of
reducing the risk of serious and fatal injuries in
the event of an accident. For
that can protect you, always wear your seat
belt correctly while the vehicle is in motion.
Before setting off, always sit in the correct
position, always wear the seatbelt appropriate
to your body weight, and always wear the
seatbelt that corresponds to your weight.
Always keep it securely locked in place and
always carry it with you at all times during your
journey. This applies to all occupants of the
vehicle and also for urban journeys.
When transporting children, use a restraint
system suitable for their weight and height with
the seat belt correctly positioned.

Only drive off when all occupants of the vehicle
have properly fastened their seat belts.
Always insert the belt tongue into the belt
buckle of the seat belt and latch it correctly.

The use of a different seat belt reduces the
protective function of the seat belt and may
result in serious injury.
Always prevent foreign bodies and liquids
from entering the seatbelt locking groove.
Otherwise, the function of the seat belts may
be impaired.
The locking system and seat belt could be
affected.
Never remove the seat belt while driving.
The use of one seat belt per occupant is
mandatory.
Never carry a child or infant on the seat belt or
restrain it with the same seat belt that you are
wearing.

will go, even if your head is below the upper

Position the backrest of the seat almost vertically
so that the back rests completely on it.
Adjust the seat so that there is a distance of at
least 25 cm (approx. 10 in.) between the seat
and the seat.
If there is any damage to a seat belt, the automatic
belt winder or the locking device, take the vehicle to
a specialist workshop immediately and have the
belt replaced → . The specialist workshop should
use the appropriate spare parts for the vehicle,
equipment and model year. Volkswagen
recommends that you visit a Volkswagen dealership
for this purpose.

Position the backrest of the seat almost vertically
so that the back rests completely on it.
Move the seat as far back as possible so that the
airbag can protect you as much as possible in
the event of an airbag deployment.
Safety belts
Check the condition of all seat belts regularly. In
the event of damage to the seat belts, check the
condition of all seat belts regularly.
