Do not let the fact that winter tyres improve
handling properties in wintry road conditions
induce you to take safety risks.
If the speed limit of the winter tyres is exceeded,
one of the winter tyres could fail suddenly and the
vehicle could lose control.
•
Never exceed the speed limit of the winter
tyres fitted, even if the maximum permissible
speed of the vehicle is not exceeded.
The assumption is superior.
•
Never exceed the maximum load capacity of
the winter tyres fitted.
•
Adapt speed and driving style
to visibility and weather conditions,
of the carriageway and traffic.
The product does not have an EC Certificate of
Conformity.
Winter tyres

Summer tyres have less grip on ice and snow.
Winter and all-weather tyres improve handling and
braking properties in wintry road conditions.
Volkswagen recommends using winter tyres when
temperatures are below +7 °C (+45 °F) or the road
conditions are wintry.
Winter and all-weather tyres lose their suitability
for investment to a large extent when the profile
has been reduced to 4 mm (3/16 inch).
When winter tyres are used, the following applies
:

Please note the relevant legal provisions in the
country concerned.

Fit winter tyres on all four wheels.
—
Use them only when the roads are in winter
conditions.
—
Use only tyres with the self-adjusted dimensions
for this vehicle.
—
Only fit winter tyres with the same construction,
the same size and the same profile type.

Observe the speed limit corresponding to the
speed rating → .
Speed limitation
Winter tyres have a speed restriction depending on
their speed rating → p. 266.
In the
Vehicle settings
menu of the
infotainment
system
, a speed warning can be set in the
Tyres
menu.
In the case of
winter tyres with
V-indicator, the
speed limit and the required pressure depend on the
vehicle's engine type. Please contact your
Volkswagen dealer for the maximum permissible
speed limit and the required tyre pressure for
these tyres.
All-wheel drive (4MOTION)
Thanks to the all-wheel drive, the vehicle has good
traction with the standard tyres in winter
conditions. However, Volkswagen recommends
using winter or all-weather tyres on all four wheels
in winter, as this improves braking efficiency in
particular.

At temperatures above +7 °C (+45 °F), the
running properties of the tyres of
summer tyres are better than winter tyres. Tyre
rolling noise and tyre wear are lower, and energy
efficiency is higher.
On vehicles equipped with the tyre monitoring
system, the following must be adapted
The system is to be replaced after the summer tyres
have been replaced by winter tyres, or vice versa.
